SkyDeck, Chicago, will be one of my best memories in my life, Awestruck by its beauty!
During my two days visit in Chicago, I spent a fine Sunday on Sky deck, which is still one of my best memories in my life, I would mention.
Totally awestruck with its
beauty, Chicago’s fine place to see is the Sky deck in Willis Tower, the native
calls as Sears Tower. It’s located on the 103rd floor! Stands Majestic and open
for the people to visit.
It is one of the tallest buildings
in the world and also one of the most popular tourist attractions in Chicago.
We stood in a very long line to enter the floor. Almost 2 hours wait. Better to
eat or have something to munch on. It gets a little tough with Kids, all these
are to keep in mind before the visit.
What to Expect:
- The Ledge: A glass-floored balcony that extends out from
the building, giving you the unique experience of standing over 1,300 feet
above the streets of Chicago.
It’s one of the most iconic
features of the Sky deck.
- Interactive Exhibits: The Sky deck
has various displays that educate visitors about the history of the building
and Chicago’s skyline.
- 360-Degree Views: On a clear
day, you can see up to 50 miles across four states (Illinois, Indiana,
Wisconsin, and Michigan).
- Historical Information: Learn
about Chicago’s growth and the history of the Willis Tower.
Best Time to Visit:
- Timing for Fewer Crowds:
Early
morning or late afternoon on weekdays tends to be less crowded. Weekends,
especially during tourist-heavy seasons, can be much busier.
- Time of Day for Views:
The best
time for breath-taking views is either early in the morning or at sunset. The
city scape at sunset is especially beautiful as the city lights start to
twinkle.
- Weather Considerations:
Clear
days are ideal for visiting, as fog, clouds, or rain can limit visibility,
although the view from the Sky-deck is still impressive no matter the weather.
Hours of Operation:
Sky-deck Chicago typically operates
from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM (last entry around 9:30 PM). However, hours can vary
during holidays or special events, so it’s best to check the official website
for up-to-date details before your visit.
Duration of Visit:
Most visitors spend 45 minutes to 1.5 hours at the Sky deck, though this can vary depending on how much time you spend enjoying the views and taking photos. If you plan to also visit the Ledge or enjoy exhibits, you might want to allot a bit more time.
Ticket Prices:
Ticket prices vary, but general
admission tends to range between $30 and $40 per adult, with discounts for
children, seniors, and groups. Special experiences like express passes or
priority entry are available for additional fees.
If you're planning a visit to Chicago, Sky-deck is a must-see, especially for first-time visitors looking for an iconic view of the city. Smile at the ledge and your best image gets displayed!
